As a Housing Officer, you will work as part of a multi-functional housing team to provide an effective, seamless and responsive service that supports tenants, sustains tenancies and contributes to the delivery of the Council s housing objectives and wider priorities. You will be responsible for managing a varied caseload and working closely with tenants, colleagues and partner agencies to resolve housing issues, tackle anti-social behaviour, support vulnerable residents and help maintain safe, sustainable communities.
About the role
The Housing Officer will provide a comprehensive housing management service for tenants living in the Council s general needs properties. You will be responsible for a wide range of tenancy management functions, ensuring services are delivered in line with housing legislation, Council policies and procedures, and the Housing Strategy.
You will provide advice, guidance and support to tenants and members of the public through office interviews, home visits, telephone calls, correspondence and email, with a strong emphasis on customer care and service quality.
The postholder will also work closely with internal departments and external partner organisations to help sustain tenancies, support vulnerable tenants, resolve tenancy issues and improve outcomes for residents and communities.

Housing Officer
As the Housing Officer, you will be responsible for building strong relationships with tenants, conducting periodic property inspections, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Housing Officer acts as the eyes and ears of the Repairs & Maintenance team in the field, providing essential feedback and reports.
