  • Flexible, proactive, and able to use initiative.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Experience supporting and developing other staff members.
  • Ability to provide formal one-to-one supervision.
  • Willingness to work shifts, sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Willingness to work towards a Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People's Care if not already achieved.

To undertake case audits and reviews etc, to assist the team in ensuring that it carries out its core tasks to a high standard.

Communication and Engagement

  1. To promote good standards of customer care ensuring service user, carer and parental participation and that their views and experiences are considered in service delivery including effective complaints handling (which meets Statutory requirements) user consultation via partnership working so that effective engagement with all service users and partners can be evidenced.
  2. To contribute to the development of policies, procedures, quality standards, performance indicators and best practice in line with the Children's Social Care Performance Framework, ensuring that these are sensitive to minority and disadvantaged groups.
  3. To participate in case file and supervision auditing activity across the service (and with partners) in accordance with the Children's Social Care Quality Assurance Framework, to ensure the highest possible standard of social work and other safeguarding practice.

Organisational and Personal Development

  1. Supporting the induction of new members of staff and Social Work students that respond to the nine domains and required competencies of the PCF and KSF
  2. Contribute to both the delivery and design of the Children's Social Care Workforce Development Strategy as well as corporate, in-service and multi-agency training programmes.

Please note this role is subject to satisfactory interview, references and a PVG check. You will be required to register with the SSSC, complete mandatory training within a timeframe and the commitment to studying for an SVQ in Care & Support if you do not already hold this qualification.

We can only accept candidates residing in the UK who already have the right to work documents. All applicants must already hold the legal right to work in the UK and if successful will need to provide evidence. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sponsorships for international applicants, or candidates currently working in the UK on a sponsored visa as we are unable to assist with renewal upon expiry.
