As a Haematology Consultant, you will be dividing your time between the ward, outpatient clinic and the laboratory, frequently attending other speciality areas including high dependency and intensive care units. Main Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide diagnosis, screening, treatment, preoperative, operative, and postoperative management of patient care.
  • Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information to explain a diagnosis and treatment options using various methods to ensure practical understanding.
  • Coordinate treatment plans and prescribe various types of treatment.
  • Provide constant monitoring and care for patients.
  • Communicate with patients and the wider multidisciplinary team on shared patient decision making.
  • Work in and where appropriate, lead a multidisciplinary team.
  • Assess and prioritise patient/client requirements, delegating effectively to others.
  • Recognise, review, and report a patient's condition and any changes to the patient and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Performing basic administrative and clerical tasks, such as keeping records of test results, writing prescriptions, providing information to patients, and monitoring treatment plans.

Skills:
Knowledge and experience in performing non-vascular Interventional Radiology procedures
Experience in performing outpatient vascular Interventional Radiology procedures is not essential but desirable(e.g., embolisation, biopsies, drainages, UAE).
Supervise radiology trainees
Vet and assess referrals clinical suitability for IR
Adhere to Trust and departmental policies and procedures
Meet with patients and their families to discuss procedures and outcomes as required
Responsible for the provision of a patient centred imaging service using training, education, audit and research to maintain best practice and improve patient care
Demonstrate expert practice in their field, undertaking and reporting of images
Provide clinical guidance to the recovery team for post procedural care
Refer patients for any additional imaging required after procedures
When required, hold patient consultations for pre and post assessment of IR procedures
Assist in the training of Radiology Registrars and colleagues from all Imaging staff groups

Candidate requirements:

  • Experience of working in the NHS.
  • Standalone Right to Work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available).
  • RCR Accredited.
  • Able to undertake reporting of cross-sectional imaging (CT/MRI), with willingness to report on plain imaging (X-ray) too.

As a Haematology Consultant, you will be dividing your time between the ward, outpatient clinic and the laboratory, frequently attending other speciality areas including high dependency and intensive care units. Main Duties/Responsibilities

As a Haematology Consultant with Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust you will:

  • Provide diagnosis, screening, treatment, preoperative, operative, and postoperative management of patient care.
  • Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information to explain a diagnosis and treatment options using various methods to ensure practical understanding.
  • Coordinate treatment plans and prescribe various types of treatment.
  • Provide constant monitoring and care for patients.
  • Communicate with patients and the wider multidisciplinary team on shared patient decision making.
  • Work in and where appropriate, lead a multidisciplinary team.
  • Assess and prioritise patient/client requirements, delegating effectively to others.
  • Recognise, review, and report a patient's condition and any changes to the patient and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Performing basic administrative and clerical tasks, such as keeping records of test results, writing prescriptions, providing information to patients, and monitoring treatment plans.
  • Conduct research to help develop and test techniques and equipment that can improve procedures and outcomes.
  • Help teach and train other junior doctors and medical students and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications

Essential

  • Be a GMC registered Doctor with license to practice (you do NOT need to be on the Specialist Register).
  • Have relevant experience at Consultant level, or references to support your transition up to Consultant level.
  • Ideally, to have previous NHS experience
  • Hold evidence of stand-alone Right to Work in the UK (unfortunately locum jobs can't offer visa sponsorship)
  • You will need to pass an enhanced criminal background check (DBS).
