About The Role
Are you a Life Changer? Do you want to lean in and transform the life of a child?
Compass Community puts children first through our therapeutic, innovative approach. Integrity, Courage and Care shape how we work. We listen deeply, challenge each other and fix what needs fixing, together.
This is the work. And we'd like you to be part of it.
Work in a children's home that makes a positive, lasting difference to children's lives. This role is ideal for experienced Residential Workers, Youth Workers or Support Workers, as well as those with no previous experience who are looking to build a career in residential care.
We are looking for determined, caring and thoughtful people to become long-lasting, significant adults in a child's life. If you're looking for flexible hours and enjoy working nights, a Bank Night Support Worker role with Compass could be for you.
What we're looking for

  • Aged 22 or over (to meet Ofsted regulations)
  • A caring and compassionate approach with the ability to build positive relationships
  • A valid manual driving licence
  • The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
  • Flexibility to work night shifts across our homes
Previous experience is not essential. We provide a comprehensive induction, specialist training and ongoing support to help you succeed.

What will I do as a Bank Night Support Worker?
As a Bank Night Support Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, secure and nurturing environment for children and young people during the night.
You will:
  • Provide overnight supervision and support to children and young people
  • Carry out regular welfare checks and respond appropriately to any concerns
  • Support children who may struggle to settle, wake during the night or require reassurance
  • Ensure the home remains safe, secure and well-presented throughout the shift
  • Complete records and reports accurately and professionally
  • Work as part of a wider team to ensure children receive consistent care and support
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times
Every night is different. Some shifts may be quiet and focused on monitoring and recording, while others may require you to provide direct support to children who need additional care and reassurance.
Why work for Compass Children's Homes?
  • Flexible bank shifts to fit around your lifestyle
  • Competitive hourly rate
  • Comprehensive induction and specialist training
  • Ongoing support, supervision and development opportunities
Compass knows how to make a house a home. We understand that a home can embody how we live and see ourselves, so our teams create environments that exceed children's needs, allowing them to express their characters, feel safe and enrich their lives. We pride ourselves on giving children who experience behavioural and emotional difficulties the highest quality care and substitute parenting.
The successful applicants will be appointed subject to references and an enhanced DBS check.
