What You'll Be Doing:
As a Young Person's Residential Support Worker, you'll be at the heart of empowering young people to live their best lives. Your role will include:
Supporting Daily Activities: Engage with young people in fun and meaningful activities, whether at the service or within the local community, to help them grow and learn.
Building Connections: Use your excellent communication skills to connect with children, guiding them through challenges and providing emotional support.
Providing Personal Care: Offer the necessary support with personal care needs in a respectful, compassionate way.
Handling Challenging Situations: De-escalate any difficult situations with patience, understanding, and calm, ensuring the wellbeing of the young people in your care.
What We're Looking For:
To succeed in this fulfilling role, you will need to:
Have strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to connect with young people in a meaningful way.
Be knowledgeable about conditions such as Autism, developmental delays, and physical disabilities, and understand the emotional effects these may have on children and their families.
Be confident in your ability to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively.
Be able to support children with personal care needs with sensitivity and respect.
Hold a fully Enhanced Child and Adult DBS, or be willing to fund one.
Driving is advantageous: A driver with access to a vehicle would be beneficial due to the service location.
