What you will do:
Lead shifts and provide inspiring day-to-day supervision of care staff, ensuring consistent and safe care delivery.
Assist in the implementation and review of personalised care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies tailored to individual needs.
Foster a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment to support children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Manage incidents, safeguarding concerns, and challenging behaviours with confidence, ensuring all appropriate reporting and follow-up are completed.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Willingness to work towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management
Commitment to continuous professional development
Registration & Compliance:
Knowledge of Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and safeguarding children frameworks
Understanding of the Care Standards Act 2000
Enhanced DBS clearance
Key Skills:
Strong leadership and team coordination skills
Ability to build positive relationships with children and young people
Understanding of behaviour management and therapeutic approaches
Effective communication and organisational skills
Ability to remain composed and make decisions in challenging situations
Experience:
Experience working within a children's residential care setting
Experience supporting children with complex emotional and behavioural needs
Previous experience in a senior support or team leader role (desirable)
Experience working within Ofsted-regulated services (advantageous)
