Solihull College & University Centre is seeking a skilled Mental Health Support Worker to provide professional, structured mental health support to students, enabling them to progress both personally and academically. The role involves delivering short-term therapeutic interventions, undertaking triage and risk assessment, and supporting students experiencing mental ill health or reduced wellbeing.
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to assess, monitor and support young people and adults with a range of mental health needs, including responding appropriately to students considered at risk and managing crisis situations in line with safeguarding procedures.
To be considered for this role, you should hold a Degree in a course relating to Mental Health, Counselling or Psychology, and/or a Level 3 qualification in Counselling (or equivalent recognised therapeutic qualification). An understanding of relevant legislation and good practice within the realm of Mental Health Support Services is essential.
The successful candidate will work across all College campuses, collaborate effectively with internal teams and external agencies, and contribute to the delivery of mental health awareness and psychoeducational training for students and staff.
