  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement customised learning plans that cater to the unique needs of each student
  • Facilitate communication and social interaction between students with autism and their peers, promoting inclusivity and fostering a sense of belonging
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents/carers
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge
  • Maintain a safe and nurturing environment for students, adhering to all relevant safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Assist with the preparation and organisation of learning materials, resources, and classroom environments
  • Provide a positive role model for students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to their growth and well-being

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working with children or young people with autism spectrum disorder, preferably in an educational or care setting
  • A relevant qualification in a field such as education, special educational needs, or child and adolescent development (desirable)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of students
  • A commitment to promoting inclusive practices and ensuring the safety and well-being of all students
  • A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, or the ability to obtain one
