Job Title: Optometrist (Part-Time)
Salary: £65,000 FTE Working Pattern: 2-3 days per week (2 Saturdays out of 4) Opening Hours: 9:00am - 5:30pm
Job Summary
An established, independent optical practice is seeking a patient-focused Optometrist to join their friendly and experienced team. This is a part-time role offering excellent clinical freedom, flexible testing times, and a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction rather than commercial KPIs.
The practice has been serving the local community for 40 years and has built a loyal patient base by prioritising quality eye care and a personalised experience. This opportunity would suit both experienced and newly qualified Optometrists looking to work in a supportive, non-pressurised environment.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive eye examinations with a strong focus on patient care
Carry out pre-screening and full eye tests using modern diagnostic equipment
Adapt testing times to suit individual patient needs (30 minutes to 1 hour)
Provide clear, professional clinical advice and recommendations
Maintain accurate clinical records in line with GOC standards
Deliver an outstanding patient experience at every appointment
Work collaboratively with the wider practice team to ensure smooth daily operations
Team Development
Contribute positively to a supportive and patient-first team culture
Share clinical knowledge and best practice with colleagues
Support the long-term reputation and values of the practice
About You
GOC-registered Optometrist
Open to newly qualified Optometrists
Confident delivering high-quality, patient-centred eye care
Friendly, professional, and approachable manner
Comfortable working without sales pressure or KPI-driven targets
Passionate about customer satisfaction and long-term patient relationships

Eye test fee: £20
