We're working with a leading provider of specialist eye care services, offering an exciting opportunity for an Area Manager to oversee operational performance across multiple clinic locations.

The Role
As Area Manager, you'll take full responsibility for the operational success of multiple clinics, ensuring seamless service delivery, excellent patient experience, and strong commercial performance across your region.
Acting as the bridge between senior leadership and clinic teams, you'll ensure strategy is effectively implemented on the ground, while continuously identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple clinic locations
- Manage staffing, rota planning, and resource allocation to meet demand
- Ensure consistent implementation of policies, procedures, and operational standards
- Drive improvements in patient flow, clinic productivity, and service delivery
- Support new service rollouts, technology implementation, and operational initiatives
Performance & Commercial Oversight
- Monitor KPIs, clinic performance, and operational metrics
- Support delivery of budgets and financial targets
- Identify performance gaps and implement improvement strategies
- Optimise resource utilisation and control operational costs
Patient Experience & Quality
- Maintain exceptional standards of patient care across all sites
- Monitor patient feedback and lead service improvements
- Oversee complaints, incidents, and service recovery processes
- Promote a strong patient-centred culture
People Management
- Lead, coach, and support Clinic Managers and operational teams
- Drive performance, engagement, and team development
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture
About You
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in a healthcare or clinical environment
- Proven experience managing teams, ideally across multiple sites
- Strong understanding of clinical operations, governance, and patient care standards
- Experience within ophthalmology or a similar setting is desirable (but not essential)
- Commercially aware with the ability to manage budgets and performance
- A confident leader with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Highly organised with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Full UK driving licence (essential due to travel between sites)
