Inspire EHC is recruiting for an Emotions and Behaviour Support Specialist (Trauma-Informed Practice) to join a specialist school near Bury St Edmunds supporting children and young people with SEMH needs, Autism and trauma-related experiences.

This is more than a classroom support role. You'll be helping pupils build confidence, develop emotional resilience, strengthen positive relationships and re-engage with learning in a way that feels safe, supportive and achievable.

Working as part of a highly supportive multidisciplinary team, you'll play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers and celebrate success, no matter how big or small.

Your Day-to-Day Role

You'll support pupils throughout the school day, helping them feel safe, regulated and ready to learn.

Key responsibilities include:

• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils

• Supporting emotional regulation through trauma-informed approaches and therapeutic strategies

• Helping pupils understand and manage behaviours linked to adverse childhood experiences and unmet needs

• Providing consistent guidance, encouragement and positive role modelling

• Supporting pupils to access learning both inside and outside the classroom

• Working alongside teachers, therapists and senior staff to deliver personalised support plans

• Promoting social development, emotional wellbeing and self-esteem

• Adapting activities and learning resources to meet individual needs

• Encouraging independence, resilience and positive coping strategies

• Recognising and celebrating progress at every opportunity

Who We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from individuals who are patient, resilient and genuinely passionate about helping young people thrive.

You will ideally have:

• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or equivalent)

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, Autism, behavioural needs or additional needs

• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, restorative approaches, de-escalation techniques or behaviour support strategies

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• A calm, empathetic and proactive approach

• The ability to travel to Bury St Edmunds on a daily basis

Whether you have worked in education, care, youth work, residential care, mentoring, mental health support or therapeutic settings, we'd love to hear from you.

Why Join Inspire EHC?

• Weekly PAYE pay with no umbrella company deductions

• Access to over 20 free CPD and training courses

• Dedicated SEND recruitment consultant

• Long-term career opportunities within specialist education

• Friendly and supportive school environment

• Opportunities to secure a permanent position
