We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join a welcoming specialist SEN school in East London.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who enjoys working in a dynamic, active school environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils' learning, communication, independence and emotional wellbeing, helping them overcome barriers and achieve their individual potential.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Support children and young people with needs including Autism (ASC), learning disabilities, communication difficulties and associated behavioural needs.
Assist pupils with their daily routines, learning activities and personal development, promoting independence wherever possible.
Use positive behaviour strategies, emotional regulation techniques and de-escalation approaches to support pupils throughout the school day.
Encourage pupils to develop their communication, social interaction and life skills.
Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom, including during breaktimes, lunchtimes and school activities.
Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants and other support staff to provide consistent and effective care.
Help maintain a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment that meets pupils' individual needs.
Promote positive relationships, confidence and independence across the school community.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN within a school, care or similar setting.
A caring, patient and resilient approach when supporting pupils with complex or additional needs.
Energetic, proactive and enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working in a busy, hands-on school environment.
The ability to support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and behavioural needs.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
Ability to remain fully engaged throughout an active school day, including supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
A willingness to assist pupils with personal care where required by the role.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
